Sunday School & Bible study fellowship

We welcome all young people up to the age of 20  at the same time as the Sunday serviceSunday School helps each student to realize their identity as children of God. Teaching deals with the practical application of the healing truths of the Bible and

the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy to children’s lives.

What will be the Nature of the Sunday School Exercises?

Students will be taught the Scriptures and will learn about God’s love for them and the practical power of divine Truth and Love to heal in their lives.

Following the rules and order of services outlined in the Church Manual of the First Church of Christ Scientist, in Boston Massachusetts (Article XX, Sections 1-3 on pp. 62-63, and pp.127), their first lessons will be:

– The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17)
– The Lord’s Prayer (Matt. 6:9-13)
– The Spiritual Interpretation of the Lord’s Prayer by Mary Baker Eddy (SH 16:26-17:15)
– The Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:3-12)

Students will be taught further lessons according to their individual interests, needs, and questions relating to Scriptural passages, which will most often draw from the Christian Science Bible Lesson for that week.

A solid moral foundation

Children and teenagers naturally love to learn how the practical truths in the Bible can help them navigate through life’s challenges. They love to learn that God loves them no matter what and is “. . . a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1

Younger classes: learning about God as ever-present Love

Children learn key lessons in the Bible that help them have good morals and to know that God is with them wherever they are. They learn about the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments and Moses, the Beatitudes and Jesus, and other Bible stories that bring out God’s power and loving ever-presence.

Teenage classes: applying Bible truths to everyday challenges

Who am I? What is my purpose in life? How do I resolve relationship or health challenges? The older classes focus on how they can use the lessons in the Bible to help them handle any problem in life. Key passages from the Weekly Bible Lesson are discussed and how they relate to the problems teens face.

Whether a student is dealing with problems such as depression, relationship issues, gender identity, drug addiction or health issues, they can find answers in these classes.
